How to Register at Your Neighborhood School

If you want your child to attend your neighborhood District school, you have a guaranteed seat.

Find Your Neighborhood School

If you plan to attend your neighborhood District school, select it on your application to let the school know you plan to attend.

You have a guaranteed seat at your neighborhood District school, even if you do not submit an application. The application is optional, but encouraged for students in transition grades.

Registration will begin in May 2018. To register, you will need to bring the following documents with you:

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • If the guardian is not listed on the birth certificate, legal documentation of guardianship
  • Parent/guardian identification
  • Immunization (medical) records
  • Proof of residency, such as a utility bill
  • Transfer card from the previous school, if your child is moving from another public school in New Jersey (including Camden)

If you have a renaissance school in your neighborhood, you do need to apply. You will receive priority for open seats over other students from outside the neighborhood.
