How It Works

How It Works

1. Learn About School Options

Click on Find a School to learn about your public school options in Camden.

2. Select Your Schools

Once you’ve done your research, make a list of schools that you want your child to attend. You'll be able to list up to 8 schools on your application, and you'll need to put them in the order you prefer them, so take time to think about which school is your top choice, which is your second choice, and so on.

3. Apply

The application can be completed online on your computer or smartphone, by calling our hotline at (856) 536-3999, or by visiting the Family Enrollment Center at the Kroc Center (1865 Harrison Ave, Entrance C).

You will need to:

  • Provide basic information about your child, such as their date of birth and their current grade.
  • Rank your school selections in the true order that you prefer them.
  • You can choose up to 8 schools on each child’s application.

If you have more than one child, you will have to fill out a separate application for each child.

If you are looking for a school for the 2017-18 school year, call our Camden Enrollment Hotline at (856)536-3999.

4. Get Your School

The main round for 2018-19 ended on March 30, 2018. Later applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning in May. The school(s) you applied to will contact you if they have available space.

5. Register

After you receive your school placement, you must go to that school in person by June 8, 2018 to register and turn in your paperwork.

Enrolling in Pre-K Programs

Enrolling in Pre-K Programs

Camden residents who will be 3 or 4 years old by Oct. 1, 2018 are eligible to attend full-day pre-K programs at no cost. You can now use the Camden Enrollment application to enroll.

Neighborhood Schools

Neighborhood Schools

Your child has a guaranteed seat at your District neighborhood school. You can select this school on your application to let the school know you plan to attend. If you have a renaissance school in your neighborhood, you do need to fill out an application, and you will have priority for open seats over any student who does not live in the neighborhood.

Applying to Magnet Schools

Applying to Magnet Schools

Camden has three magnet schools that have selective admissions criteria: Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, Brimm Medical Arts High School, and Camden Big Picture Learning Academy. If you want to apply to these schools, you will need to include additional information in the application.

Catholic Partnership Schools

Catholic Partnership Schools

The Catholic Partnership Schools do not participate in the Camden Enrollment application, but they partner with Camden Enrollment to share information about their programs. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify.
