What is Family Link?

Many families’ top priority is to keep their younger children together at the same school. To do this, Camden Enrollment has developed a Family Link option.

Many families’ top priority is to keep their younger children together at the same school. In addition to sibling preferences, families with multiple children in grades K-8 also have the option of choosing a family-linked application.

If you choose a family-linked application, we will prioritize placing your children together at the same school. If your top choice does not have space for all of your children, your children would match together to a different school that has space for all siblings. You should select this option if it is more important to keep your children together than for them to be individually matched to the schools you prefer the most.

If you select a family-linked application, you must list the same schools in the same order for all students applying in grades K-8.

Here's an example—

  • Imagine that a family has two children, Michael in 6th grade and Jessica in 4th grade.
  • They list the same schools in the same order for both children.
  • Michael matches to his first-choice school, which gives Jessica a sibling accepted preference at that school.
  • Even with the preference, however, that school does not have any seats available in 4th grade for Jessica.
  • However, the family’s third-choice school has room for both students.

Without Family Link

  • Michael will match to the school that was his first choice.
  • Jessica will match to a different school, and be on the waitlist at Michael's first-choice school.

With Family Link

  • Both Michael and Jessica will match to the school that is their third choice.
  • They will also be on the waitlist at the first and second choice schools.
