Types of Pre-K Programs

Camden has several types of pre-k programs:

Programs in CCSD Schools: Many District elementary schools offer pre-k programs. These programs can be convenient for families with children in multiple grades.

  • Pre-k classrooms are available at Catto, Cooper's Poynt, Cramer, Cream, Davis, Dudley, H.B. Wilson, Sharp, Veterans, Wiggins, and Yorkship.
  • In addition, CCSD operates pre-k programs at the Bonsall and Molina annexes (near Uncommon: Camden Prep and Mastery: Molina).
  • CCSD also offers the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC), which offers pre-k and kindergarten classrooms, including specialized programs for pre-k children with special needs.

Private Provider Programs: Camden also has a number of private providers, which offer pre-k programs. These programs often provide other services for families and the community, such as health screening and job or housing assistance.

  • Head Start programs (Acelero and Center for Family Services) have additional eligibility requirements. If you are interested in these programs, contact the center to make an appointment for your intake interview.
  • Private provider pre-k programs include Acelero Learning (4 locations), Broadway Family Center, Camden Day Nursery, Center for Family Services (2 locations), El Centro, Hispanic Day Care Center, Mi Casita (2 locations), Respond (5 locations), Rutgers - ELRA, St. Joseph's CDC, and Ward Center (LaBar).

Charter Programs: Beginning in 2018-19, Camden’s Charter School Network will offer preK at their elementary schools, Camden’s Pride and Katz-Dalsey Academy.

How To Enroll in Pre-K Programs

You can use the Camden Enrollment application to enroll in pre-k programs.

Click here to apply, or call us at (856) 536-3999!

If your child will be 3 years old by Oct. 1, apply to PK3 for next year. If your child will be 4 years old by Oct. 1, apply to PK4.

For programs with more applicants than seats, two groups of students will have priority:

  • Children with a sibling already enrolled at that school or program
    • Note that sibling preference does not apply if the siblings attend different schools, even if the schools are located on the same campus. If you're not sure whether your child qualifies, call (856) 536-3999 for help.
  • Children who are already attending the Infant/Toddler program at that pre-k site

Results will be available in late April 2019. For applications submitted after March 29, 2019, seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis beginning in May.
