Announcing Camden Enrollment's annual list of summer programs, updated for 2018! Many schools and community organizations throughout Camden offer great opportunities to keep your child learning and having fun all summer. Contact the programs directly for more information.

K-8 programs:

Adventure Aquarium Summer Camp Programs

  • Join the Center for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium for one of our “shark-tastic” summer camp experiences! Children will have the opportunity to discover marine animals and the oceans, engage in STEM-based learning, and connect with other students who share their love of all things aquatic.

Camden City School District

  • Free safe and fun summer programs including Bilingual and ESY.
  • Offered for rising 1st through 8th grade students attending any school in Camden.
  • Transportation provided.
  • Breakfast and lunch provided.

Camden Dream CDF Freedom School

  • Offering stem based activities designs to expose young scholars to Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics.
  • For Camden students in rising 1st through 7th grades.
  • Program dates: June 25th through August 4th.

Camp KROC

  • Summer Camp offering packed fun games and activities including drama, music, dance, bucket drums, STEM, swimming, sports and computers for children ages 6-15. Low cost with vouchers, scholarships and financial aid available.

Camp Kumbaya (Summer Enrichment Program)

  • The Camp Kumbaya summer program combines academics, faith formation, athletics, arts, and just plain fun! The program’s goal is to ensure that the children are ready to be successful when entering their next grade level in September. Tuition fess are on a sliding scale based on income and vouchers also accepted.

Career Exploration Camps at Camden County Technical Schools

  • The Summer Career Camps at CCTS will provide your child the opportunity to learn introductory skills, form new relationships with their peers, and learn more about themselves and their future goals by exploring different career pathways.
  • Grades 6-8
  • Cost: $150 per week

Catapult Learning Summer Program 2018
  • Summer program offering hands-on learning projects, small class sizes, character education and health activities, on-site playground and indoor gym and special event days for children and their families. Featuring Healthy Bodies and Healthy Minds Curriculum.
  • All families interested must complete necessary registration with the Early Childhood Development Center's main office.
  • Program dates: July 2nd through August 10th. (Applications must be received by Friday, June 15th)

City of Camden Summer Recreation Programs

  • The Department of Human Services/Bureau of Recreation is offering recreation programs at various community centers across the city.
  • Each site will offer fun activities inclusive of indoor/outdoor sports, games, field trips and arts & crafts.
  • Free of charge.
  • Breakfast and lunch served.
  • Children must be Camden residents between the ages of 6 and 14 to enroll.
  • Program dates: July 2nd through August 31st; Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Kroc Arts

  • Offering piano, ballet, sacred dance, comic book arts, and private voice lessons for ages 5 and up.
  • Programs offered for 5 weeks. * No classes July 2nd - 6th.
  • Fees: $15 for Kroc Members and $25 for Non-Members

Kroc Summer Dance Classes

  • Offering Intro to Dance for ages 4-6, Adult Afro Zumba for age 18 and up, and Hip Hop for ages 8 and up, and Ballet & Jazz for ages 7-10.
  • Program dates: June 4th - August 3rd. *No classes July 2nd - 6th.

Life Assembly Youth Program

  • An action packed summer camp that last roughly around 7 weeks. We take numerous trips throughout the week.
  • Ages: 6 - 14 years old
  • Program dates: July 9th - August 24th; M-F, 7am - 6pm
  • Breakfast, lunch and snack provided.
  • $135 a week for one child; $$230 for two children; $270 for three children; four or more living within the home are free. Trip fees vary by age and T-shirt fee is $10 each

Mt. Calvary Performing Arts Camp

  • Theater is the primary focus of the camp; theater, music, and dance classes make up the morning session each day. An age appropriate musical is selected and rehearsed for a professional production at the end of the camp session. The 2018 production date is Saturday, September 1. Typical camp activities, including Crafts and Recreation are offered during the day; each day will also include an age appropriate academic hour that involves math and reading activities.
  • We are excited to offer a series of weekly Specialty classes that parents and children can select to participate in at a small additional cost each week. These classes include: Tennis, Basketball Techniques, Art, Music (Vocal and Instrumental), Dance - Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, and Karate.
  • Cost: $100 per week. Financial incentives for multiple children. Extended day services available at an extra cost. Meals and/or snacks provided. State Vouchers are accepted.
  • Ages 5-12

Respond, Inc. Summer Enrichment Program

  • Summer enrichment program that offer children ages 6-12 an array of various activities including trips. Low cost with vouchers and subsidy available.

Settlement Music School

  • The Settlement Music School offers a summer experience of workshops, classes, ensembles and lessons for students interested in the arts. Located at Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy. Tuition-based program with financial aid available.

Superior Arts Institute: Summer Series

  • It is with great pleasure to announce the 2018 Superior Arts Summer Series "Levels." This program will provide children theater, dance and performance classes that will not only develop your child's craft, but will also enhance education, positive behavior reinforcement and self-discipline.
  • Offering dance classes including ballet, modern, and hip hop. Also, offering acting classes for tv/film, stage, and public speaking.
  • For students in grades 3rd-8th.

The Cause Summer Program with the Center for Aquatic Sciences

  • If you attend Cooper's Poynt or live in Camden and are interested in Science, then Cause Camp is just for you! The Cause Summer Camp for The CAUSE Camp program is FREE and will focus on many of the mysterious wonders of our world. We will discuss topics about Earth's beginning, pirates and ships, strange creatures of the ocean, the impacts of marine debris in our ocean and fabulous sharks.

Youth Career Entrepreneurship Program

  • Mentor program that offers positive youth development, promote self-sufficiency and healthy lifestyles. Rising Leaders mission is to build future leaders and young entrepreneurs by providing exposure to various careers.

Dribble to Dream Basketball League
  • An awesome summer basketball program offering interested players training to enhance skill sets, learn new techniques and strategies while in a fun social setting.

  • Ages 8-18
  • Registration begins June 9th and requires a $30 fee.
  • Program will run from June 9th through August 25th; Wednesdays - 6pm-8pm and Saturdays 9am.

Anointed Journal

  • Anointed Journal is looking for four driven and motivated high school students looking for an opportunity to get hands on experience in the field of journalism. Students will learn social media, web marketing, journalism and have input on short editorials.
  • Must be a rising junior or senior in a Camden high school and have an interest in business and/or journalism. Unpaid internship.

  • Offering summer youth employment as recreation aides and pool aides. Applicants must be residents in Camden.

Hopeworks 'N Camden

  • Offering youth, no longer in school, with web design training and job opportunities in a supportive setting. Curriculum includes progressive technical training in web development code, graphic design (Photoshop), and advanced HTML programs experience.

Kroc Krew

  • Develop leadership and job skills and have a little fun while getting hands-on experience working with children at our summer camps. Urban Promise Internship Program

  • UrbanPromise’s internship program provides college-aged adults with year-round or summertime training in urban youth development and ministry. Interns work in our after-school and summer camps and live in community in the Camden neighborhood in which they work. Their role at UrbanPromise is essential to our organization’s operational and programmatic success as they work on a volunteer basis and act as positive role models to the children and teens in their camps.

Power Corps Camden

  • Offering young leaders in Camden an opportunity with the Americorps program to revitalize public land in the city of Camden.
  • Recruiting young adults ages 18 - 26.
